The Louisiana Art & Science Museum elected new Board of Trustees and Advisory Council members on Feb. 15.

Terrence Ginn and others on the Louisiana Art & Science Museum Board of Trustees and Advisory Council welcomed new members to the council.

"Dotson is production unit manager for HFE, Hydro Formulation and Ethoxylation for Shell. Nugent is a community leader and author of the cookbook "Five Seasons" with experience in public relations and real estate law. Tessier is senior director of public affairs for Louisiana and Arkansas for Union Pacific. Williams is vice president for preconstruction for MAPP, and Dexter is director of business development for Civil Solutions Consulting Group."

Terrence Ginn appointed to sexual harassment and discrimination policy task force

Ginn will help review harassment and discrimination policies and advise on how they can be improved.

On Monday, Governor John Bel Edwards appointed Terrence Ginn to be one of the seven members of the new sexual harassment and discrimination policy task force.

"The seven members of the task force will review current harassment and discrimination policies within every state agency that falls under the executive branch. The task force will also 'research and identify the most effective ways to create work environments that are free from any form of harassment or discrimination,' according to governor's office."

Sewerage & Water Board to raise employee pay

Terrence Ginn said pay raises will come without need for budget increase

The Sewerage & Water Board will raise salaries by 3.5 percent to 15 percent as part of an effort to attract 300 skilled workers.

"The higher salaries will cost the Sewerage & Water Board about $3 million a year, said Terrence Ginn, a state finance and administration official working as part of the S&WB's emergency management team.

'They're going to make it work within the current budget,' Ginn told the commission, saying the pay increase would be offset by less spending on overtime and phasing out contracted positions."

Terrence Ginn appointed to Sewerage & Water Board Interim Emergency Management and Support Team

The team will aid the S&WB through the end of hurricane season.

Terrence Ginn was one of six experts appointed to the new Interim Emergency Management and Support Team. The team will provide administrative, financial and technical capacity to the S&WB through November 30, 2017, the end of Hurricane Season.

"The new Interim Emergency Management and Support team will supplement the leadership already at Sewerage & Water Board as we fix the infrastructure and stabilize the organization. Our administration has worked aggressively to recruit a team that consists of the top professionals in their respective industries who understand the issues currently facing Sewerage & Water Board and have a proven track record for success. They will work closely with Sewerage & Water Board's executive leadership team to add support and capacity during this transitional period." - Mayor Mitch Landrieu

The Board of Regents, which coordinates all public higher education in the state, held a summit on Monday.
